Shabi abnd Ray were married a few weeks ago in Durham, North Carolina in her parent’s backyard and then celebrated at the Washington Duke Inn. And not just your typical backyard—it was designed by Shabi’s dad and Ray and it was amazing—including terraced rock ledges, waterfalls, flowers, etc. There were so many personal touches, including the window backdrop that Ray worked on and the handmade wedding dress! Shabi is a fashion designer so she knew she would design her dress, and her mom sewed/created the gorgeous gown. It was my first time photographing a Persian ceremony, and loved all of the different aspects and the meaning behind all of the details/setup. It was great to shoot in Durham, and my parents were even guests at the wedding. Congrats to Shabi and Ray—thank you for having me there!
