our hall bathroom.

Jake and I bought our first house in March 2009. To say the least, the house needed A LOT of work. It was an estate, and the previous owner had not done any updating including possibly leaving the original carpet from the 1970s. We luckily had one month before we had to vacate our apartment to pull out all the nasty carpet and install wood floor. To start off the house posts, I would like to reveal our hallway bathroom renovation. After the gut kitchen renovation (to be posted soon!), we had to move directly on to the hallway bathroom. The wax ring on the toilet must have been loose for years, and the subfloor directly around the toilet was rotted all the way through, including some of the beams.

For those who do not know, Jake (boyfriend) is a carpenter, so he did the entire renovation himself—seriously AMAZING—and dealt with me thinking I was the foreman. I want to post more info on renovation including the materials used, etc., but it is getting late, so I will have to follow up with another post this weekend!

Without further ado…our hallway bathroom:

i love the subway tile and the shampoo bottle holder! This was created from Jake’s annoyance with bottles on the side of the tub.

I had at least one more before/after, but it seems it is finally my time to upgrade photoshop after accidentally quitting : ( Will post the other shot this weekend. I hope everyone has a fun weekend— I am contemplating repainting our bedroom : 0 along with some editing.
